Located on El Amir Bachir Street, Area X sadly passed away in 1998. Area X fronted “Riad El Solh Street” named after the first Lebanese Prime Minister. A statue of Riad El Solh located in the middle of a stepped platform commemorating the Prime Minister. Area X contained commercial and residential buildings of traditional Lebanese character. In recent history, the square became an important symbolic space of protest, although the square was combined into one lot with Area X and no longer functioned what is commonly considered a square.
Area X is survived by a 23-year-old hole.
